Nicéphore Niépce
Nicéphore Niépce (1765-1833) was a French inventor. Nicéphore Niépce is credited with the creation of the worlds first photograph in 1825. Above is View from the Window at Le Gras, which was taken in Le Gras, France, this is his earliest surviving work, it was captured with a pinhole camera. The photo was taken with a 8-hour exposure and used an asphalt like substance as a recording medium. It is currently on loan from the University of Texas, to the Reiss-Engelhorn museumin Mannheim, Germany In 1829 he partnered with Louis Daguerre, who later invented the daguerreotype, to further advance the science of photography.
