Alfred Stieglitz was an influential American photographer and promoters who initiated photography as an accepted art form. He started and maintained many different galleries in New York.
Above is Stieglitz's photo of painter Georgia O'Keeffe who he married. I chose this photo because of the placement of hands and how they help the composition. This photo is also my favorite because it depicts such a brilliant mind and influence in the art world.
Above is one of my favorite Georgia O'Keeffe paintings. O'Keeffe provided Stieglitz with the muse he always wanted. He photographed her obsessively. While they were together he took more photographs than ever before. The photos he captured of her represent the most complete and intimate records of any person.
